PSARA stands for Private Security Agency license, which is mandatory for a private security Agency established in India. PSARA Registration is regulated by the Private Security Agency (Regulation) Act 2005. Any person with three years of experience who has worked prior in the Army, navy, and air force is eligible to be the supervisor. Training should also be given as per the Act to the supervisor so that they can do the work with utmost responsibility. The PSARA Act specifies criteria in detail, including the qualification health conditions in the clothing manner of the security guards. Specific requirements need to be considered under the PSARA Act:

  • The candidate should not have committed any prior offense, which is prohibited under any law.

  • The PSA (Private Security Agency) can only provide security overseas with the controlling authority's permission.

  • As per this Act, the private security Agency cannot use any uniform for the security guard similar to that of the police uniform.

  • The uniform of the security personnel should be well-fitted.

  • The private security Agency must conduct a detailed training session according to the syllabus framed by the controlling authority.

  • The training should give security personnel at least 100 hours of theoretical training, including 60 hours of field training.

Process of PSARA Registration

  • A police verification will be conducted, which must be recorded in form 1.

Validity of PSARA Registration

After the 45 days expires, the applicant will again have to file a new application following the same process.
